Pretty 06 by Gabrini - Lancome La Vie Est Belle

Right In Time by Ann Brun
After really enjoying Gabrini Pretty 04 (a dupe of Si by Giorgio Armani) I decided to revisit the little Gabrini display and pick up another scent - from the mini selection I opted for 06 which is a dupe of Lancome Vie Est Belle. Note - I purchased this a long time ago and I think that this range may now be discontinued (sorry) but, who knows perhaps you might stumble on it?

To be honest Lancome La Vie Est Belle (LVEB) is not my type of scent but, I'm always willing to stomp outside my comfort zone. Granted the scent is pretty and sweet but, it bears a striking resemblance to Victor Rolf's Flowerbomb (which I detest) however, luckily for me it's by no means a twin - more likely the prettier sister.

Whilst I don't have LVEB in my collection ... I received a mini tester (when I bought a lipstick) and thus became familiar with the scent. Luckily (again),  my familiarity did not breed contempt, as I soon began to subtly appreciate its amazing sillage and ability to remain eternally sweet and sprightly throughout its wear! Don't be fooled by the delicate advertisements that promote coy delicate sweetness this stuff is almost as potent as Poison (e.g. by Dior) when it comes to projection and longevity and I've found this dupe to possess the same scent and quality.

Pretty 06 by Gabrini
I don't have any notes from Gabrini to compare but in my opinion, it smells very similar. Top notes are very sweet, like candies and berries, then a little floral and lastly the warm smell of tonka bean (?) and something scrumptious (praline?). Even if you're not into Gourmand scents this is very pleasing although yes, very similar to many modern day celeb fragrances which go on the same vanilla powdery puff sweet vein. However, much cheaper (retailed for £2.99) with a surprising sophistication which keeps it from being nauseating.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this veer from my usual serious floral musk scent.

Have you tried this scent from Gabrini?
Do you know any good fragrance dupes?
