Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche

Sweet, powdery with warm green incense notes. If this scent was a painting it would be John William Waterhouse's Circe Invidiosa. Defiant, bewitching, sombre, strong almost masculine yet undeniably feminine. Rive gauche is as much refined as its rugged and oh so deep.

If you like your perfumes to be perfumes (think vintage) and not sweet n' fluffy generic scents definitely give this fragrance a whirl.

Rive Gauche comes in a vivid blue, black and silver spray can which in my opinion looks pretty chic. There are other benefits too which I found out after watching Sali Hughes Perfume Collection (skip to it here). Her review actually peaked my interest so I researched it, tried it in store and the rest is as they say, history.

I think what I really like about this perfume is its sweet woody green underbelly. Admittedly I do fawn over floral's, relax into musk's and can go giddy over a gourmand but chypre's are where this young lady's heart rests.

Rive Gauche has great longevity and a little goes a very long way. Yet be warned this stuff is heavy and strong so, unless you want everyone in this world and beyond (other galaxies) to know that you're wearing Rive Gauche - use sparingly.
